Tuesday nights excite me. I know at 10 PM I will get to watch an hour of television that will immediately make me feel a million times better about my life. The show that does that for me? Teen Mom, or in this case Teen Mom 2.
The new batch of teen moms are filled with so much drama that even Farrah from season one seems tame and bearable in comparison. The one mom that stood out to me the most in last nights episode was Chelsea Houska.
In Chelseas episode of 16 & Pregnant we learn that her baby daddy Adam is less than supportive of her and her pregnancy. The whole episode he sends her degrading text messages and at one point he says “tell me where and when to sign the papers over for that mistake”.
Chelsea comes from a very supportive family in which I pegged her a complete “daddys girl”. He is there for her every time Adam put her down and you can tell he genuinely wants the best for his daughter. Its a sweet relationship that they have together and in the premiere of Teen Mom 2 we learn that he has agreed to let Chelsea and her friend Megan move into an apartment which he pays the rent and bills for as long as she keeps up with/finishes school.

Well all is well until we see that scum of a baby daddy Adam come back into the picture. All of the sudden he wants to be a part of their daughter, Aubree’s life. Hm, I wonder if that has anything to do with the fact he is on TV and gets to freeload off of Chelseas dad. Wonder oh wonder. And not only is Adam back in their lives but Chelsea for reasons that I cannot understand agrees to let him move in with her and Megan. Chelsea tries to keep this from her dad and when he does find out he tells her that if Adam is going to stay there he needs to pay rent. Well hell, you’d think Chelsea was asking him to chop his legs off or something. Adam, being the tool bag that he is, is less than happy about being asked to pitch in. He then tells Chelsea that if he has to pay then her friend Megan should too. Adam and Megans relationship is already bad, Megan of course hates the guy that treated her best friend like shit. And I don’t blame her. I would be really pissed if I was there for my best friend when a guy treated her awfully then had to watch her take him back in two seconds flat. So this of course creates major drama in the house ending with Adam texing Megan telling her if she didnt pay rent then she needs to move out. Wait a minute!! Is this Adams apartment or Chelsea and Megans?? Since when does he get all the say about who lives in an apartment that he doesn’t even pay for!!! When Chelsea found out about Adam basically kicking her best friend out she barely even blinks an eye. I mean what kind of friend are you if you let your boyfriend treat your best friend like crap? To me, that is not okay. Megan practically co-parented with you while Adam was off doing god knows what and then the second he comes back you let him take over your whole life and come between you and your best friend. I just wanted to scream at her to think about what she was doing. You are choosing a guy who called you a ‘stretch mark bitch’ over someone who clearly has been there for you. Ugh!!! The episode ended with Megan moving out, Chelsea crying her eyes out with Adam next to her (only after Chelseas dad asked if he was going to be there for Chelsea), and her dad looking at them with a helpless look on his face.

What I think needs to happen is that Chelsea’s dad needs to completely cut her off. Maybe if he stops paying for her bills and rent she will finally get the motivation she needs to finish school. Because she will learn quickly that living the life she has been living just wont cut it. And I’d love to see how Adam would feel once the funds were cut off and he was forced to stop playing video games and actually work. For some reason I don’t see him sticking around if he actually had to put some effort and money into his family.
Oh Chelsea, didn’t anyone ever tell you you shouldn’t pick a guy over your friends and if a guy would make you choose then maybe he isn’t the person you should be spending your life with? SMH =/
